Weymouth, Swayze & Corroon Insurance is the result of the 2009 merger between Weymouth & Smith Insurance and Corroon & Associates. The firm's origins date back to Wilmington, Delaware in 1933 and New York City in 1901. WS&C has been protecting the interests of its clients for the past 82 years serving the the needs of both individual households and businesses in 34 states and overseas. Since its founding, the firm has always shown a dedication to the education level of its employees and an ability to offer the latest in insurance coverage to its clients. We continue to emphasize custom-tailored insurance programs based on thorough analysis of risk and wise placement of coverage through financially sound insurance markets.

 

Richard Corroon, CPCU
PRESIDENT

Richard joined WS&C in 2009 following the merger of Corroon & Associates with Weymouth & Smith. Richard began his insurance career in 1985 at Corroon & Black, a predecessor company to the global broker Willis Group. Over the past 30 years, Richard has formulated sophisticated risk management strategies for national and international clients. His assignments have included positions in the U.K. at a Lloyds of London broker and Bermuda where he was instrumental in setting up Willis Corroon (Bermuda) Ltd., a wholesale broker specializing in Fortune 500 and other global business in the Bermuda marketplace. He obtained his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1990.

R. Bruce Swayze, CIC

With over 40 years of insurance experience, Bruce Swayze brings an established, consistent voice to WS&C. A native Delawarean, Bruce Swayze graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1966, and the University of Delaware in 1970. In addition, he earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designation in 1985. Swayze was President of the Del-Mar-Va Council of the Boy Scouts, a member of the Unionville/Chadds Ford School Board, President of the Centreville Civic Association and served on the board and as Vice President of Wilmington Country Club.
