R. Bruce Swayze, CIC

Bruce Swayze joined Weymouth & Smith in 1982 with nine years of insurance experience. A native Delawarean, he graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1966, and the University of Delaware in 1970 with a B.S. in business administration. In addition, he earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designation in 1985.
Swayze is an active community member and has held leadership positions with several organizations. He was President of the Del-Mar-Va Council of the Boy Scouts, a member of the Unionville/Chadds Ford School Board for ten years, President of the Centreville Civic Association and Committee Chairman of Troop 31 (Chester County) Boy Scouts for seven years. Swayze also served on the board and as Vice President of Wilmington Country Club.
Swayze continues to serve on the Del-Mar-Va Council Board of the Boy Scouts and is a member of the Rotary Club of Wilmington.
Richard Corroon, CPCU

Richard Corroon formed Corroon & Associates, Inc., with more than 20 years of insurance industry experience. He began his insurance career at Corroon & Black Corporation, subsequently Willis Corroon Group. The company, now known as Willis Group Holdings (WSH), is currently the third-largest insurance broker in the world.
Over the past 25 years, Richard has formulated sophisticated risk management strategies for national and international clients. His overseas assignments in business development have included positions in London at the Minet Group, a Lloyds of London broker, specializing in placing business in the Lloyds of London markets, and Bermuda, now a top international insurance center. In the early 1990s, Richard was instrumental in setting up Willis Corroon (Bermuda) Ltd., a wholesale broker specializing in Fortune 500 and other global business in the Bermuda marketplace.
Richard earned a bachelor of arts degree at the University of Vermont and is a member of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society. He currently serves as a board member of the St. Francis Hospital Foundation, Delaware College of Art & Design overseer board, the World Affairs Council of Wilmington and the West Center City Early Learning Center.
Philip B. Weymouth, Jr., CPCU, AAI, AIS
Former President of Weymouth & Smith
Philip B. Weymouth, Jr. is the former President of Weymouth & Smith. The firm was founded by his father, Philip B. Weymouth, in 1933. Weymouth currently serves in the capacity of Risk Management Consultant based on his extensive experience in the insurance industry and his role on numerous insurance and safety committees over the years.
Weymouth received his bachelor of mechanical engineering degree from Yale University in 1957 and subsequently attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He had a distinguished career in the Navy and served as Chief Engineer and Executive Officer on a Pacific Fleet Destroyer. He is also a member of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society and serves on the Loman Foundation Board of Trustees, the highest level of governance in the CPCU organization. He was also a member of the CPCU Total Quality Committee.
Weymouth has served on numerous boards including the Tatnall School, Delaware Museum of Natural History, Deerfield Academy and the America for Competitive Enterprise. He has chaired numerous board campaigns for development and facility expansion, and his contributions to local and national organizations are numerous.
